how did Jeter win a gold glove???

He is a horrible feilder, the only reason people think he is good is because of the great plays, but he boots routine stuff.

Because he's a Yankee.. Hope that answers your question.

P.S. Jete should be at 3rd and A-Rod at SS, but noone said Steiny and Torrie were smart!

sry Cash but what does jeter being a Yankee have to do with him winning it, Rivera didn't win the CY,A-Rod didn't win SS or GG Sheff won't win MVP

its because he's a yankee it helps his stats. When you got that 2B who got traded to Texas (forgot his name) helping you field and you got people like Giambi (prior to this year) Bernie and company batting after you it helps to win both offensive and defensive awards, plus he had a great pitching staff who knew how to get people to either stirkeout or pitch into groundouts.

That 2B was Alfonso Soriano... as for Jeter, I have no idea. I gotta be honest, watching Barry Bonds go crazy this year pissed me off so much I stayed away from baseball until the playoffs. I always thought Jeter was a strong fielder, and it is possible that other SS's in the league weren't as good fielders this year as they had been.

I've seen him make some amazing plays... but I think that A-Rod was definitely a better SS than Jeter, but Torre wanted to make it clear that Jeter was the man in New York. What a Nazi.

Jeter is a pretty good fielder, just there have been better in the past. You had A-Rod, Garciaparra, Tejada was pretty good, Omar Vizquel, Mike Bordick when he played. They were all pretty good defensively, just theres always been a little bit better then Jeter, this year he outdid Tejada and Vizquel, A-Rod's at 3rd, Bordick's retired and Garciaparra is in the NL. He is definately above par fielding wise though, no doubt about it.

I'd rather have a guy like Micheal Young over Derek Jeter...I think Young is more deserving...

They can't give Figgins the Gold Glove because he pretty much played everywhere on the field.
