Post Season
Okay guys, the postseason is going to be here in 3-4 days..and this part of the forum (Baseball Section) isn't very talkative. I mean I know the site is based around Madden, Sim Leagues, and Football but come on....It's the post season now. With Baseball being my favorite sport, I can't wait for October to come around, Nothing like the playoff atmosphere, it starts getting cold outside..ugh I love it..anyways, Just wanted to hear some of your predictions for this post seasons play? I am still going with non other then my.... ATLANTA BRAVES..WorLd SerIeS ChaMpS!

oakland gets smoked this year, Maybe it's time to finally break a curse. Boston or Chicago, Hmmmmmmm. Or maybe Boston vs. Chicago, wouldn't that be great.

Chicago won't get by Atlanta in the First Round! First they have to win the Wildcard! (Giants, Padres, Maybe LA if SF passes them..)

Uhh... I don't think ATL can win this year. They couldn't pull it off last year and they were better. Minnesota... eh I just don't think so. I'll say this is the year for Boston, I just have a feeling. Of course I could be wrong (see all of my posts about the Chiefs).

Sorry guys, but the Astros are red hot and have their final three games at home against the Colorado Rockies. The 'Stros have won at least 30 of their last 40 and are on a long home winning streak. Currently the Astros are leading the Wild Card race in the NL. The Cubs and Giants have e losing precentage these last few games and one plays the Dodgers and the other the Braves. Good luck to them.

You forgot the current leader, the Astors. The Cubs lost today, so as far as I'm concerned they've choked the season away. The Giants are going to have to play the best baseball of their lives against the Dodgers to get in. The Astros I believe will be the hottest team going into the postseason, they have gone 33-10 in the last month and a half. If you look back at the last couple of seasons, its the teams that come on strong at the end that go the furthest (Florida, Anaheim). I still wouldn't put money on the Astros though, given their playoff history. I hope they can get to the big show though.
Ultimately I think the winner will come from the National League, whether it's St. Louis, Atlanta, or Houston.

Just because the Braves had Javy, Sheffield and Maddux last year, doesn't mean they aren't better this year than last. This Braves team has done something that Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz and/or any other starter for the Braves never did and that was go undefeated with their starting rotation in an entire month(July). Wright(4-0), Hampton(5-0) and Ortiz(5-0). GO BRAVES!!!

I think Atlanta will win it this year because nobody is expecting them to. Past years people have expected Atlanta to be in the postseason and make a run at the World Series. This year they were predicted to take 3rd in the Division, and anyone other then a Braves fan had Florida or Philadelphia being in this post season as the winner of the NL East..I've said it from the beginning, Atlanta will win the division because nobody is expecting them to..and they did, now They'll win the Series cause no one's expecting them to, yeah they lost Maddux, Lopez, Sheff..but personally..I like this team better then last years, time will tell what Atlanta will do..
By the way, I see Atlanta beating Houston in 5 if they win the WC..

During the season the Astros and Braves split their series 3-3. At one point, the 'Stros were on top of the series 3-1. You can do the math there. If they face each other in the playoffs and the Astros reach the 3-1 lead, then chances are high that in a playoff situation, the team with the edge will win... especially once "The Rocket" pitches one of those extra games. Roger got to pitch once against the Braves during the season and left with a no decision with a 1-1 tie. The 'Stros won that game. Overall, the total runs in the series are in the Astros favor, by one... 23 vs 22. It'll be a great playoff matchup, but I have faith in Houston.

Cubs lose again. I believe one more loss, or one more Astros/Giants win and they are done. Sucks to be a Cubbie fan.
Astros and Giants both win tonight. I think tonight was the toughest game of the three against Colorado, for Houston. Pete Munro was on the mound, with Oswalt going tomorrow and Clemens Sunday if needed.
I saw the end of SF/LA, and LA didn't look to good out there. Didn't look like a confident team. Of course, they are young and haven't won the division in 7 or 8 years. Hopefully for the 'Stros sake they can win one and clinch the West.

Well, the Dodgers have been known for their comeback abilities. I am just glad, partly, that LA didn't win tonight, merely for the fact that I believe they would have clenched. If they would have done so, then it would have been inevitable that some of theor key players would be rested for the playoffs. I do believe that the Giants need a sweep to win that division.
