Players-who cant hold it in and the Fnas who provoke them

I post this is in the baseball thread since this happened in baseball just yesterday but this really goes for all sports...

In a baseball game between the Oakland A's and the Texas Rangers yesterday, a woman was injured as Rangers releiver Frankie Francisco threw a chair into the stands at a man (the womans wife) who had been heckling. According to Rangers officials the man used racial slurs etc. agaisnt francisco who threw the chair....Earlier Rangers releiver doug Brocail had had to be restrained because of the same fan....also according to the Rangers, they had requested extrasecurity but they had there claim denied.

First off...this just pisses me off, as a Rangers fan Francisco was extremly dumb and shouldn't have done a thing but the fan who if in fact was using words like n***** etc. was just as much wrong....The fan of course claims that he used no profanity and the scary 6'5" guys could beat anyone up....fortunately for this fan the chair struck his wife....now they will be able to sue and become rich....

That leads me to my point... What should be done in cases like this to fans who go overboard, how can it be prevented and what should be done to the players?

First off, it was not the heckling man's wife. The chair was aimed at the rude fan but hit the innocent bystanders. It clearly shows the rudeass in the stands being restrained. It is hard to find blame here, but the pitcher shouls have kept his cool. There are better ways to handle situations like that and unfortunately, heckling is part of the game. You cannot control fans as well as players should control themselves. As far as what to do, I am sure they can have the fan relocated, and if not, talk to the field administration. Don't throw objects into the stands. It is acts like these that make others think that professional athletes are abusive, anger filled men. Control.

Umm it was the mans wife....go to ESPN or whatever....

from ESPN
The injured woman, identified by her lawyer Tuesday as Jennifer Bueno, 41, of Livermore, wants Francisco to be prosecuted. A civil suit is also a likely possibility, since she'll need medical treatment, said the lawyer, Gary Gwilliam.

Bueno's husband, Craig Bueno, is a battalion chief with the Hayward Fire Department. Gwilliam wouldn't comment on what Bueno might have yelled at the Rangers' players before the fracas, saying he would let the man speak for himself at a news conference on Wednesday.

Screw that.. the player needs to control himself and ignore the fans.. This is the players fault I don't care who he is he needs to not attack someone for saying something to him.. players need to be able to block out comments from fans if they can't then they shoudl quit playing sports..

If what I am saying is wrong then let me ask you this... When Terrell Ownes ran to the Star would it have been OK for 80,000 cowboys fans to run onto the field and rip him apart limb from limb? Players heckle fans all the time too... if they are going to do it they better expect it in return...

At least this punk who threw a chair wasn't having batteries, ice balls, beer bottles, or bags full of dog crap thrown at him.. all stuff that has been done to football players..

Not to often have I disagreed with you QB8, but your statement of "It's hard to find blame here" is off the mark (in my opinion).

The guy threw a freaking chair into a crowd of people. I don't care what they were saying to him, that was uncalled for. The fan(s) were wrong to be heckling the guy in an extreme way (ethnic slurs for example), but he should have just walked away. I hope he gets prosecuted and has his *** sued off. Trust me, if a fan had thrown a chair into the bullpen and hurt someone, my argument would be the same.

This, of course, isn't aimed at you, QB8. Just the first sentence. I'm not taking your words and basing my argument on them. Don't take offense, buddy.

And Cash, I LOVE the way you turned it into a "Football is tougher than baseball" argument by bringing up the fact the footballers have batteries thrown at them and don't assault the fans. You're my dog, Cash! ****ing baseball wussies...

Peace!

OK senormatt you completely missed the point on this one and I'm gonna have to smash you for this ok..

WHO THREW THE CHAIR???-- THE PLAYER!!!

In retaliation to words..

WHO IS THROWING THE BAG OF CRAP??? THE FANS...

My point is this

Baseball...

Fan calls player a name..

Player goes crazy and throws a chair

Football

Fans throw batteries, ice balls, bags full of crap or piss

Football player TAKES IT!!

SO I ask you... what hurts worse? Batteries, ice balls, and bags full of crap......

Or words??

I mean if this punk baseball idiot can throw a chair for some words.. well then the football players should all carry chain guns and just mow down the fans for the stuff they do.

You are correct...I read that wrong but let me ask you something

say you are at a Cowboys game and this guy in front of you for the 1st 3 hours has been yelling racial slurs at roy williams....you try to get security to come over and they wont.....what would you do? This isn't leding to anything I'm just wondering...

Security comes and gets him and takes him away...

I was at a cowboys game about 2 weeks ago and there was a guy about 15 chairs over and down from me he was yelling racial slurs and just being a moron..

Then some fans told him to shut up he started yelling at them 1 guy went and got security and they watched and then took the guy away...

So they would take himhim away thats what..

But if they didn't... what am I gonna do... that depends.. how big the guy is whos with me, how many people are with him etc etc... chances are I do nothing, what can I do.. I could say something to him to try to piss him off to make him fight me.. but then I would probably still get kicked out even if he threw the first punch....

It's just not worth it.. but I'm a fan he's a fan.. I'm not a player... I would expect Roy Williams to ignore it.. if I were a player I would expect fans to call me whatever and I would use it to fuel my game, I would teak it out on the opposing players...

I'll tell you what I wouldn't do... I wouldn't throw a chair who knows who else I might hit...
