Well, it's playoff season and now that all the teams have been set with the White Sox beating the Twins in the one-game playoff for the AL Central title, so I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the playoff race this year
Here are my predictions:
NL:
Phillies over Brewers in 7
Cubs over Dodgers in 6
Cubs over Phillies in 6
AL:
Red Sox over Angels in 6
Rays over White Sox in 6
Rays over Red Sox in 7
World Series:
Rays over Cubs in 6 and a lot of miserable Cubs fans.

EDIT: I'm an idiot and forgot that the DS's are only 5 games long. In that case subtract 2 from all of my predictions for the early round series.

The Division Series are only best of 5.. not best of 7, so your predictions can't happen for your first round matchups..
Phillies over Brewers in 4.
Dodgers over Cubs in 5

While I think LA will win it, and Manny will get the final revenge vs Boston, I would LOVE to see a Philly vs Tampa Bay World Series.. That would be who I want to see in the finals.

Agreed, Phils-Rays would be my WS of choice (obviously not a biased perspective in any way :P), but I'm a little nervous about my Phils... Hamels pitched dominantly today but the offense didn't keep up their end of the bargain and Brad Lidge nearly blew it. Can't say I'm optimistic heading into a matchup with Carlton Charles.

Yup, this game 2 is the only game I have Milwaukee winning.. CC is NASTY. Plus, Myers has been struggling mightily lately.. However, Phils should definately get a win from Jamie Moyer in game three. Moyer is CLUTCH.
Well, so much for CC in his game, lasting only 3 2/3 innings.
The Rays I think will surprise some people, and I see you two said they will win the White Sox series. They took game one and I hope they keep that momentum! Go Rays!!
I want to see the Rays make it to the WS, but I would also loce to see LAD vs BOS and LAD sweeping the Red Sox! I hate New England teams, and that would be just great if Manny can rip the Sox! 50 years from now, it'll be the curse of Manny...LOL!
Lol.. well I know it's wrong after he already lost.. Brett Myers really stepped up in game 2 though.. Very good at bats, and surprisingly, good on the mound. Can't take anything away from Myers in this game.
In the meantime, Milwaukee's lineup looks really bad outside of Ryan Braun.. Nobody is hitting the ball.
Unfortunately, as much as I would like to see a Phils-Rays WS.. and the Phils winning it all, I am going to stick with my original predictions, Dodgers-Red Sox.. same amt. of games in both LCS's as well.

I was in shock when the Rays had Boston 3-1, and Boston came back and took them to a game 7. I felt like Tampa had no more to give and that Boston would do it again. Win when on the brink of elimination. Boston is tough.
The World Series match up is not what the networks wanted, but too damn bad! The Rays are in and making a name for themself.
Not one person has posted in my Tampa Bay Rays thread this year. No one believed!

I am a fan of sports mogul, a program you can buy & download and play interactively in baseball and football. It's pretty cool. Anyway, in a news letter I got from the maker of it said this...
Back in March, Baseball Mogul predicted Tampa Bay to be the 2nd-best team in the American League, with a 12.3% chance of winning the World Series. We only picked the Phillies to be the 4th-best team in the National League.
So it's not surprising the Baseball Mogul still thinks the Rays are the better team. I updated my database and used Baseball Mogul 2009 to play the World Series one thousand times. Tampa Bay won 57.4% of the time -- the most common result was the Rays winning in 6 games.

If you like Baseball Mogul you should try Out of the Park Baseball. WOW, what a difference. I used to play BBM, until I found this game. 100x better then Mogul if you are really into baseball.
The playoffs are CC's kryptonite.
