For the love of God... Pitch to Barry... Please!!!!

Barry Bonds was walked four times last night. This is becoming a regular event. You know you have arrived as a hitter when you are walked with the bases loaded!!!!!! This bothers me so bad that it has produced an ulcer in my stomach, and I don't even pay to see him play... Just think of what his records would be if some of these MLB baseball pitches would get some b**** and pitch to barry!!!!!!

Oh wait... I get it.... BALLS.... funny though, pitchers who don't throw balls. I mean, I have never seen a baseball game where the pitchers threw absolutely nothing at the batter and just did the motions on the mound... so weird. Is the MLB running out of balls? Have they lost too many over the walls and into the lakes? It is truly sad when they have nothing to pitch and the game just lags on.... so sad.

That right there is why Baseball sucks... and why I hate it.... Hitting is the most exciting thing in baseball, and homeruns are the most exciting hits, and then when people hit home runs the other team can just decide he's not going to.. I'm thinking, and there might be one but I can't think of it right now, but another sport where the other team can just decide the player won't score? Football - Randy Moss is scoring on us to much lets just not let him.. Sorry his team throws him the ball.. Hockey, He's Scoring to many goals lets just not let him have the puck anymore.. nope can't do it.. Golf- he's to good.. lets just take the ball away when he swings.. no can't do that... nascar.. he's to good a driver lets just take the gas out of his car.. nope can't do that.. basketball- that guy can hit 3's like its crazy so he doesn't get the ball anymore- nope can't do that...

Omfg, don't make any references like that cash. There is an intentional walk rule in baseball, nothing like that in any other sports but that doesn't make a difference.

And, the thing that makes me mad is that you say the PITCHERS need to get balls. Barry needs to grow some balls and admit that he's on the juice already. We all know he's on BALCO. Plus his little pansy arm pad makes the pitcher HAVE to throw it right where Barry wants it every time. The problem is Barry, not the pitchers.

Don't piss me off... I have a right to my opinion and in my opinion BASEBALL sucks... and don't tell me what to do either... I gave my reason I hate baseball..

Just like people give reasons they hate golf, or the cowboys, or things I like, and I don't tell them not to... now I might argue against them, but don't tell me not to write something

IN MY OPINION baseball sucks and intentional walks is one of the main reasons... you take the best athletes in the game and eliminate them from the most exciting part.. It would be like a the opposing team being able to just allow Randy moss to get 10 yards per drive put he's not really allowed to touch the ball.. cause he might score evey time he does...

I definitely see Cash's point...and I see IS' point.

I think the problem is the hitters. It is nearly impossible for pitchers to throw inside...guys wear so much padding so they can lean over the plate and still hit homeruns off pitches on the outside corner. Just looking at my Astros, Jeff Bagwell wears padding on his arm like its about to get beat with a baseball bat. The other problem is well...steroids. There are guys using it, and the MLB needs to do something about it fast. All they've got to do is catch a couple of guys, and I'd bet the vast majority would stop using it.

With all that said, the main reason baseball is my least favorite of the 3 major sports is because there is no revenue sharing. Sure, it forces teams to bring in crowds to support the team...but New York is much bigger and a better sports town than say, Tampa Bay, or Minneapolis. Once a team has a bad year or two, it may take 10 years to recover and re-gain that revenue.

I agree with Cash 100 %.... and how does Barry being on steriods hold any weight to this argument... Stallion....Can you prove his on steriods, No you cannot, you can't even make a coherent arguement period... Roger Clemens is the only pitcher who will pitch to him... so don't give that nonsense about his protective elbow pad and not being able to pitch inside... Clemens does...

Oh I forgot, your the first eighth grader who knows everything

I know you can prove that he is or is not on steriods....I just refuse to accuse him of taking steriods until it is proven that he has taken them... I don't believe eveything I hear

So the fact that he has endorsed BALCO products in magazines isn't coherent?

And no, Clemens doesn't throw inside. He never gets the inside of the plate, it's just close to Barry's huge pad. He should not be allowed to do that and he and some other players should be tested for steroids.

People who do like baseball shoudl embrace Bonds, they should be telling pitchers to pitch it to him, and they should WANT him to hit home-runs... because without it baseball becomes boring and stale once again and maybe those of us who hate it will get a well deserved strike that lasts for a few years...

Regardless of what HR's do for baseball, I don't see why you pitch to him all the time and risk losing.

SickWithVick.... come on ..... Barry doesn't take steriods? please...... and the tooth fairy really does exist. I mean he not only bulked up so much but went from barely hitting 35+ HR's to 70+ Hr's in one season.

BUT SO AM I

All I am saying is that in every other sport YOUR TEAM helps you to do exciting things, the opportunity is there at all times for a great player to do something great. In baseball you realy on the other team allowing you to do it...

Thus in my opinion Baseball sucks.. I could watch a whole gme of baseball to watch a great player hit a homerun and the other team could pitch away from him the whole time. But if I watch any other sport to watch a great player do his thing, he will have a chance, Kobe will get the ball, TO, Moss, Vick, Harrison... they will get the ball, Tiger will swing, etc etc...

Okay, first allow me to apologize for being an ahole in my above post, I didn't sleep at all the night before so I was in a ****ty mood...

But in all other sports don't you rely on other people to allow you to do it? If the center on the other team never gets the ball how does Shaq record blocks? If all on football team does is run the ball then how to the cornerbacks get tackles or INT's?

And, to your other references, it makes a lot of sense. In all other sports if one WR or another player is double teamed his teammates have to step up for their team. When Barry Bonds gets walked, there's a runner on first base, so the guy batting behind Barry has to step up. He can potentially move the runners and the other teammates can score them.

Those are defensive stats.. HELLO we are talking OFFENSE here.. nobody is complaining that barry bonds can't catch the ball and get someone out.. we are talking HITTING, which is an offensive stat....

If cornerbacks doubleteam the #1 WR don't the other WR's have to step up? When a SG in basketball is double teamed don't his teammates need to score more points? That better?

It was your defensive stats arguement that was weak.. saying the other team has to have the ball for shaq to block it and the ball needs to be thrown to be intercepted...

This arguement you give is much stronger but still isn't the same... Because as I said before that players team gets hm the ball.. You can double cover Randy Moss and the QB can still throw it to him and he can still take it to the house... You can't just say "ok the ball will not get thrown to randy moss" You can double team Kobe and he can still pull off a twisting hanging 3 pointer to win the game... you can't say "kobe can't have the ball this game..."

Those very things are what make those players great

But you can PITCH THE BALL SO THAT IT IS NOT HITTABLE to Barry Bonds..

I'm done argueing with you on this... You obviously don't get it, or else you do get it and you are just trying to defend baseball to me.. which is pointless

IN MY OPINION..

Baseball sucks because its the only sport where you can intentionally remove the best athletes from being able to do the most exciting thing offensively.. You can't do that in any other sport (that I can think of... and if you think of one.. it probably sucks also)

Ha, actually I was defending baseball... have been since the beginning of this thread...

I don't see why you keep comparing baseball to other sports. It's NOT football, it's NOT basketball, so why do expect it to be like them? I know this doesn't have anything to do with the argument on hand, but seriously make Barry take off his freakin armpad and he won't be so great.

Also, if the Giants want Barry to get more hittable balls FIND A GOOD HITTER TO GO AFTER HIM! Honestly, get a decent maybe 40+ HR hitter and Barry gets more hits. I gaurantee it.

I don't expect baseball to be like football or basketall... Every sport is different... I like basketball, I like football.. they are different... I could compaire them to explain why I like football more.. I use compairing to explain why I think the way I do, and why I like the things I like. Everyone compares things.. and when you compaire two things they will have differences, otherwise there is no point in comparing them... You would instead just say .. those are the same exact thing..

I know I said I was done.. but I had to explain why I compare things..

Yeah, but you were comparing the offensive tactics in football to that in baseball. That's why my first reaction was what the hell are you talking about? In what other sport does the other team throw the ball to the team on offense intentionally? These are just too different to compare, which is why I said it was a bad comparison.

Stallion is right there, If the Giants had someone hitting behind Barry Bonds, they could not pitch around him..... I just think its bad for the game, but it is strategy, and I understand that... I just like watching the guy hit

Thats fine I agree with that.. Its like if the Chragers had someone besides Ladanion Tomlinson as a threat on thier team the other team would not stack 8-9 in the box to stop him... (And he would get 2000 yards a season)...

But we still get to see him run and score touchdowns even though there is nobody else on his team and the other team completely stacks against him.
