Yankees on Trial
So, they did an ESPN thing about it, and I thought it was all well-done except the jury was a bunch of freakin New Yorkers. That was crap. But I think the issue is a good one and I'd like to hear your opinions about it. The question is in the poll.
I vote yes, and I think that Bud Selig needs to get off his rear end and do something. He needs to put a salary cap and a floor, that way the competitive nature of baseball is back to the good old days.

I couldn't agree with you more IS. That is one HUGUE reason why baseball turns me off. These guys are way too overpaid in my opinion. They get more money than an all-star football players, and they're the ones getting hit hard every Sunday! With higher salaries it just turns most guys into money grubbing hogs and I am tired of it. I feel bad for the perrenial basement teams. Something needs to be done.
If only MLB had the heart and love of the game as much as college baseball does.

I couldnt watch more than 15 seconds of it. Sorry for sounding ignorant but that didnt catch my interest at all. I could care less as long as the league still exists.

qb, did you watch it? I saw the jury deliberations, and one guy was referring do the Yankees as "we." Doesn't that seem like an impartial jurer? (sarcastic tone)

No i missed it. I just have a hard time sometimes grasping the whole path that baseball has taken since that Strike back in the day. I remember growing up hearing my parents talk so much about the good ole Kansas City Royals. They took me to the games and such and it just seems that back then the game was more pure. Stars like George Brett, Brett Saberhagen, and Bo Jackson (Bo was bulky but, who knows) made the game a classic everytime, and now they have people who demand outrageous amounts of money and who catch up to records set way back in the day thanks to body enhancements.
I don't know, I am not a big fan of baseball, but whenever I can see something of old in the new, I feel pretty good about it. It just is that lately, all the tradition is being buried. Whatever... I still have football

Oh man, you're talking about they're championship team. Even though I wasn't around then, you're killing me thinking about that. We need another one.

I hope they have the type of streak they had last year, but maintain it. I think the Royals have some potential!

Yeah, especially with Tony Pena as their manager. He's really good.

Yes. That's one of the things that makes it crap, same as the Player's Union. It's screwing it all over with no drug testing. Before we mess with that we need a salary cap and floor, though.

Yes I definetly think so
I mean just because you got the money to buy the best players doesnt mean you have to, and anyway as good as they are they arent doing good

They're still gonna make the playoffs, don't kid yourself. It's not fair to the small market teams. It gives them no motive to spend money on good players.
