Madden 06 For the Xbox 360. If graphics are the most important part of a game for you than this version of Madden will make you happy. To be honest I didn't really spend much time with the game, and I might even come back and edit this review, I just wanted to test out how the reveiw system works.
The Graphics are good, but they aren't what we saw during the 2005 Draft when they showed us a commercial, which remids me.. Why didn't I see a Madden Commercial during the 06 draft? Disapointed in that, but back to the review.
If you are tired of hearing Madden and Michaels then the radio announcer guy will be a refreshing sound for your ears. He makes better situational comments about the game than Madden and Michaels do on the current gen games, and some of the stuff is just nice.
Unfortunately for me the lack of features makes the game unplaybale for me. What doesn't it have?
- Only one player per team - This is a HUGE problem. In this day and age multiplayer is the 'in' thing. EA has games where thousands of people all login and play together on one server, yet they made this game only playable by one person per team? This is the main reason why Madden Next gen is unplayable for me.
- Camera Views Suck - Seriously the camera views, which aren't editable are horrindous. Just plain bad.
- Cannot edit players - No you can't edit the players at all.
- Cannot pit the CPU vs the CPU in a simmed game - People have been simming games for years using maddens engine as a predictor of what will happen. The lack of this feature along with uneditable players made the game worthless even as a simulator for running a league.
EA needs to fix a few things to make Next Gen playable. This review stinks becaue in all honesty I just couldn't make myself spend enough time with the game to give an accurate review because the things they left out killed it for me.
Hopefully soon I will be doing reviews on the 07 games and will be happy to spend time playing them.
