Not even in the bottom three? I mean, I know Howard Stern has his pull and his followers, but geez. Not in the bottom 3!?! I'm starting to think that it is a very real posibility that this kid makes it to the Final 3 at which point the show will get double the amount of votes that it has ever gotten because people like me will be voting for the first time ever to make sure this kid who shouldn't even be on the show doesn't win.
On a side note, I have to wonder why every show this year I am surprised by who gets voted off? How can I be surprised? I knew when there were 12 left that only 3-4 of them can sing worth anything so what does it really matter WHO gets voted off between 12 and 4? It doesn't.
And who thought Gwen Stefani didn't sound like she does every other time you've heard her? Sounded like she has been taking testosterone injections and is on the 6th week of her cycle. Don't HEY BABY me in that low voice!!

Ok, good. In my opinion, you're an idiot. Good thing I can't be wrong!

Ugh.. American karayoke...who cares? The show has an ever dwindling talent pool that they mostly ingnore in favor of leaving characters that will be talked about around the office the following day. It preaches that it is more important to be discovered than to put in the hard work and dedication to succeed, and panders to those who buy into the current American Ideology of I-deserve-to-be-rich-so-give-it-to-me-now.
Yet the only ones making any real money off of it are the show's creators (Simons Fuller and Cowell) and Fox in the ad revenues department.
This show is all that is wrong with television. It is a sad testament indeed that the previous American Idol had more votes cast in its finale than our last presidential election.
The only thing I have to say is if Sinjaya is on Idol for very much longer I'm never going to turn on my TV again and go to the Final of American Idol and sabotosh the whole....Rofl yea Cash I noticed that too, HEY BABY

I agree with you Cash...There are 3 or 4 that can actually sing...and thankfully they are still in it. Blake, LaKeshia and Melinda.
With Ben, I have to really disagree with you. These judges in all honesty are finding GREAT talent out there in America. But yes, they(Simon's) are maknig a crap load of money cause of every CD these Idols sell, they get some of that money. Look in the past years.
Kelly Clarkson has sold a bunch of CD's. She's good, has a nice sound....yeah maybe she'd never be anything if she weren't on AI, or maybe she does sell alot cause of AI..not sure. Either way I think she can sing.
Also, Jennifer Hudson winning an Oscar and Carried Underwood winning Grammy's...come on now!

ANd there are many others.
Yes there are some that always get cut before the top 12 that are good and there are some that make the top 12 yet, they suck. Like Sanjaya. Anyway, I just can't agree that the TV show doesn't have a talent pool.
Hey Souljah, didn't that guy who couldn't sing a few years ago (William Hung or something) get a record deal and sell a few hundred thousand songs? I hope Sinjaya doesn't end up with something like that...
What I was getting at above was that they put a few that actually have talent on there, but mostly its characters they go after when culling down to the final 12 (the reason that the Sunshine guy made it over that african american guy who has the best voice Ive heard in years) because characters get talked about at the water cooler and drive up viewership..which drives up ad rates.
Im telling you the people at the top make a killing on this stuff, you know how much Kelly Clarkson gets off of her contract? It is rumored between 7 and 8 % of album sales. Simon Fuller and 19 Management get the other 92-3 %.
Though they are unable to confirm how little they actually make because if contestants reveal anything to anyone about the workings of the show or the contract they signed, they're liable for damages "in excess of $5 million." Their recording, management and merchandising companies, needless to say, are all owned by 19 Group -- a fundamental conflict of interest familiar to anyone who has studied the machinations of the music biz.

OK well a few things on this
1) It is rumored but nobody knows because... is like me saying.. there is a rumor that Aliens live in my basement but nobody is sure because they are invisible.. so lets just toss that out as complete nothingness..
2) WAH.... let me get this straight some people who's dream it is to be a star have been made a star get to do what they want to do in life and make MILLIONS of dollars doing it. They would have NEVER made it if not for American Idol.
Lets put this into football lovers terms. Lets say you are good enough to be a starting QB in the NFL yet you would never get a chance but low and behold they make a show and you go on it and you win. But you end up having to sign a contract where you only get 10% of what you would have made.
So when you sign a 50 million dollar deal and a 20 million dollar signing bonus instead you end up with $2 million up front and $5 million over the 7 years you PLAYED football.
Now I don't beleive that the IA contestants that signed this contract only get 10% I think thats a load... I also know that some of them have SUED and have gotten out of parts of thier contract.. but even if it was true..
SO FRIGGEN WHAT? They are making more than what they would have if there was no American Idol.
Go American Idol.. and LONG LIVE WAL MART!!

What is funny about this flippin Sinjaya dude is that all these little teeny boppers are loving him so much that even if he doestn win he will have a show on Nick or on Disney. Last time I checked this wasnt teeny bopper idol. They should never have let the kid in the final 24 in the first place so its their own darn fault.
Wow... Sanjaya is what happens when you leave things up to mob rule lol. Who the hell does this kid think he is with his big goofy mohawk or whatever? Well, at least he's kind of polite, unlike that Antonella brat who was on. He takes all of Simon's crap because he knows it's totally true that he sucks at singing.
Did you guys catch that one episode where that random 13 year old girl got to meet him and like fainted? What, is Sanjaya going to be the new Michael Jackson?
I agree with Souljah, though, that Melinda, Blake and Lakeisha (my personal favorite) are the only really good talents left in the competition, though that bald guy is getting better from week to week.

I don't really watch American Idol but have caught a few performances here and there. Even from the little bit I've seen, It's clear that only Blake, Lakisha, Melinda, and the really young black girl have talent. Blake isn't the best singer there, but I'm pulling for him to win because to me, he's the most entertaining and original. Lakisha and Melinda have amazing voices, but that alone doesn't get you success in that business.
Sanjaya is a joke...like what would have happened if William Hung made the top 24 way back when. Most people find the reject singers from the first few episodes of the show to be the most entertaining part, so naturally when a reject slips into the top 24, those people are gonna vote for him. Then there's the 13 year old girls that are voting for him who are too young to know or even care that he sucks and has no business being there. Don't be surprised when Sanjaya makes the top 5.
I hate American Idol. The stupid show thinks it has the right to run for 2 hours and push House out of its slotted time every other freaking week.

They had a two guys like this Sinjaya guy in the English version of AI...They made it to the final 4 with Simon saying stuff like "You are the worst I have ever heard, how are you here?" etc everyweek.
But like you said Cash, everyone will eventually vote to kick them out, as most people who watch shows like it watch and dont vote, unless its apparent they have to.

I mean, I know people like to see the underdog win, but in a competition like this, the best person SHOULD win, because we're talking about millions of dollars at stake here.
Of course, the problem I have with American Idol is that the winner doesn't get anything the rest of the field can't. I mean looking at all the various people who Souljah posted who sold a number of records (many of whom I don't even remember), you don't even have to get that far to get a deal.

This episode (I watched for about 5 minutes and saw that part somehow) and I watched the results show of the show cash was talking about...I saw the clip of this guy singing the previous night and I thought he would be in the bottom for sure...was shocked when he wasn't and got to stay seated.

Just found this...
I haven't really watched much of American Idol but i can tell you that i do not want him to even come close to winning. Party because of how much my mom talks about Sanjaya. But on another nicer note i would definatly love to see Melinda win just because she is one of the more reserved contestants. I haven't really heard much about Blake or LaKeisha except for the radio on the way to school...
I've been pulling for Blake the whole way, he might not be the best singer but he puts something else to the music that really makes it sound great, Just wondering but who have you guys been pulling for?
I like Blake a lot, he reminds me of a young Sting kind of, and I think he does have some special energy or something that he brings to the table that nobody else can match.
Personally, though, Lakeisha is my favorite, because she's got a hell of a voice no matter what she sings, and she comes off as a genuinely sweet and warm person and that comes out in her singing.

I have never watched more than 5 minutes of American Idol, but everyone seems to be talking about this Sanjaya guy. I here there's this huge conspiracy or something, like votefortheworst.com? Personally I think it's awesome. If he makes it to the finals I might actually have to cast a vote.

Awesome that he could be costing some great singer out of millions of dollars, personally I don't think thats awesome
Naw... The good ones will still get contracts. All three judges have studious, and you can bet that they'll grab the ones that can sing regardless of who wins.

Like Tigam said above me, it's not so much that Sanjaya's robbing someone else of a record deal (look at all those figures that were posted earlier, I don't even know who most of the people with record sales are!), as much as he's getting money he doesn't deserve.

I am torn on it tho, cos if he can get millions, or even just thousands from singing, in fact, any money at all, and he sucks at it, respect to him.
