Situational pick is used to define a pick made by drafting for need of a specific position. And thereby attempting to get the best available player at the position. You could say that Detroit didnt "need" M. Williams, but he was sure as hell the best WR available. Therefore, as a situational pick, he was very good, cos they got the best, as an ovr pick, id still say he was...but some would argue not so due to their depth at WR...But there is no way that Williams was a bad pick for that position.
