To me, it would be easy. Take the four major bowls (Orange, Fiesta, Sugar and Rose) and have them host the championship game every four years, much like they do now. But have the two teams that play there arrive much differently. Select 8 teams to go, seeded 1-8. Like March Madness, the pairings are favorable to the higher ranked teams (8 vs. 1, 7 vs. 2, 6 vs. 3, 5 vs. 4). Those games should be played at the higher seeded teams home field, the weekend after the last eligible team plays its last game. The next round , where there will be two games, the 'semi-finals' should take place at two of the major bowls NOT hosting the championship game. Then the final game would be played, like stated earlier, at the major bowl selected for that year. Note that one of the major bowls would not be part of the play-off each year, I would say the bowl thtat hosted the championship the year before gets removed the next year. On a side note, that bowl can host the "We should have been in the play-off" Bowl between what would essential be the #9 and #10 teams. The bowls are still intact. Money still flows. The fans are happy and at MOST a team would have to play 2 more games, the semi-final game and the championship game. Everybody wins. It makes sense. Therefor, it will never happen.
