NY Giants press conference. 13th July.

Giants team coach Mr.Billster is entering the room. He is in hurry but takes his seat and welcomes everyone politely.

New York Times: “Mr.Billster, your team plays astonishingly good in the last 6 games. The defense is tremendously good performing. What happened, what is the winning formula?

Mr.Billster: “Yeah, we are playing remarkably good and have now 6 wins in a row against really good teams like for example the Eagles, Vikings and the Buccs. But we know that this is only able because we realized that professional Football is a based on real teamwork You cant win without everyone knowing that every victory is getting us nearer to the playoff spot. My team know this exactly and is playing with much passion and skill, defensively and offensively”.

Sports Weekly: “Coach, the defense was really shaky in the first outings but they play really strong now, only allowing 13 points in average in the last 6 games. But there isn’t any real superstar in your defense, especially in the Secondary”

Mr.Billster: “Hmm. Do we really need one of those so called “superstars” to win?? I don’t think so. Our team is loaded with tons of talent on both sides of the ball. If you say “you don’t have stars on your defense” I only can say, that superstars don’t win the games, it is the teamwork, which does it.
Our Secondary for example is a fine combination of young talent and athletism, like CB Ken Lucas one the one side, and experienced Leaders like FS Victor Green or CB Dexter McCleon on the other side. They are doing a superb job together and are shutting down opponents passing with great play.
And besides, I still think that my MLB Jamie Sharper is the best player in the league at his position after Ray Lewis. I would be very exited if I could have him again in the centre of my defense. He is a great warrior with high intensity on the field and has a relentless motor. He is much underrated.
To give you one last statement for your question. I like performing players, not superstars, who have big names, but lowly performances.”

A local magazine: “ Mr.Billster, some sports journalists called the way your team is performing very unattractive. What do you think about their comments?

Mr.Billster: “Well, what can I say. You always can only let play your team the style, which fits the best to it and gives your team a realistic chance of winning the games. We found out our own way to win the games and wont change our game strategy only because some journalists think we are playing to defensively.

USA Today: “ The Giants are winning but you still have no contract for next season, Mr.Billster. Arent you getting nervous?

Mr.Billster: No, not really. Right now iam just concentrating and focusing on how I can help this team to reach the playoffs. The team and the fans of the team have the right to see me taking care and working hard only for the Giants, and not for my own personal future. After this season I will make plenty of time to spent with that issue.

Mr.Billster looks at his watch and speaks: "Guys, we have a training session now and are preparing for our next game against the Bills. I think this should be enough for today. We will see us hopefully again in three weeks and celebrate our playoff berth together. Bye, have a good time".

Mr.Billster is taking a deep breath and quits the room with a friendly smile on his face...

What it means to be a Bill...said by Fred Smerlas...
I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'
