MADDEN 09 TOURNAMENT

ENTRY FEE: $5, Early registration is available (and recommended) registration will be available up until the morning of event.

The Entry Fee can be paid through cash, credit, debit or store credit (store credit can be obtained through trade-ins, so trade-in your older games to play for free!)

Systems: The Game will be played on two Xbox 360 and two Playstation 2 game consoles. The console that a player plays on will be chosen at random, so heed this now, if you need to practice on one format or the other, get that practice in before the tournament, a copy of Madden 09 will be set up in the Xbox 360 and Playstation 2 at the store up until the day of the tournament for those who wish to practice.

LIKEWISE IF WE RECIEVE MORE THAN ENOUGH TO COVER PRIZES, ADDITIONAL PRIZES WILL BE ADDED, SO BRING YOUR BUDDIES, THE MORE THE MERRIER!

General Store Rules:

No Swearing
No Gambling
No Bribing (Offering a player an incentive to concede)
No Damaging of Store Property (that includes system controllers)
Oh and have fun, remember that's what it's about!

Personal Controllers will be allowed however expect them to be inspected before play starts.

FORMAT: Double Elimination Bracket

What that means is there will be two brackets, a main bracket and consolation bracket. The main bracket losers will be placed into the consolation bracket, inserted as they lose into the next round. If a player loses in the consolation bracket, they are eliminated from the tournament. The main bracket champion and consolation bracket champion will face off against each other for the first place prize, 2nd will go to the loser of the grand final. 3rd place will be played for by the main and consolation bracket runner-ups. This tournament is expected to run long so expect to be present at the tournament site for the majority of the day.

Game Settings:

Quarter Lengths: 3 minutes, 5 minutes in the championship and grand championship matches.

Home Field: Home Field before every game will be decided via coin flip, the winner of the coin flip can either choose to have home field, or choose to be the visitor.

Mercy Rule: If a player is up by 21 points or more entering while entering the fourth quarter than the game will be called at that point and that player will be declared the winner. A player may concede (give up) at any point during a match if they feel that they cannot win.

AI Difficulty: All-Madden

Playbook Rules: No Custom Playbooks are allowed, only default playbooks for the team you choose are allowed, 2 minutes will be alotted at the start of each match to allow players to customize their audibles. The systems will be reset at the end of every game to ensure that audibles are placed back on default after each match.

Team Selection: Teams will be selected upon registration, Mirror Matches will be allowed (ie. Panthers Vs. Panthers).

Substitutions: Only standard substitutions and depth chart changes will be allowed.

HB for HB
DE for DE
CB for CB
WR for WR
TE for TE
DL for DL
OL for OL
TE can be played as FB
KR can be CB, HB, or WR
PR can be CB, HB, or WR
etc.

Glitches: Known glitches cannot be exploited, if someone uses a glitch against you then notify the tournament director ASAP and a penalty will be assessed.

Pausing: Players may only pause if both players agree to pause for some reason (about to sneeze, bathroom emergency, etc.), incidental/intentional pausing during gameplay will not be tolerated, a first offense gives a warning, second offense gives a game loss. Pausing can give a player an unfair advantage and due to that it will not be allowed. So, if you have a problem with hitting the start button by accident, then try to focus more on keeping your finger away from the start button.

Fairplay: The Fairplay feature will be turned on.

Pausing can give a palyer an unfiar advantage and due to that it will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with hitting the start button by accident during game,s then I suggest focusing on keeping your fingers away from that area of the controller.
